I always represent my VS Speedster for what it is... and so the following e-mail was nice to receive from one of the "inner circle" at the 356 Registry... Jim www.dubudee.com

Dear Jim,

Your site came up on 356talk - the Porsche 356 Registry Forum - as a
having some nice photos. Nice photos and a lot more is what I found. You
are obviously a great Speedster aficionado and keeper of the 356 faith.

I am writing to give you some information about the upcoming Speedster
50th Anniversary Event to be held June 25-27, 2004 on the Monterey
Peninsula in California.

Our website is www.speedster50thanniversary.com/. Have a look.

I'm also attaching recent press release announcing the schedule of
events.

Registration for the event is brisk. We anticipate that this will be the
largest and most comprehensive group of Speedsters, Convertible Ds, and
America Roadsters - and the largest group of 356s ever assembled.

I hope that your health is good, and that you will be able to join us.

Best Regards,

Jim,
Bruce is the creator and promoter of the Speedster 50th Anniversary Event in Monterey, CA this June. He frequently "googles" for anyone or anything "Speedster" and contacts them via e-mail. He's a super promoter, working very hard to get as many Speedsters and Speedster lovers as possible to attend his event.
If you've visited his website, you can see the price is way beyond steep. I don't believe the 356 Registry or the 356 Club has endorsed Bruce or his meet. Like that famous latin guy said (was it Ricky Martin?), buyer beware!
I am also a member of the 356 Registry. I'm not "in the know" any more than any other Regular Joe, but from all appearances, the 50th Anniversary is a legitimate, widely anticipated event in the Old Porsche Community. From a recent email from the organizers:
