Ok so now I realize I've a few too many projects on.

I have one finished kit (this one - if they are ever truly finished) my DNA which is about 1/3 of the way through, a house and now twins on the way... And I have three 2 seater cars...

So up for sale is my little 356 speedster that I've only driven to the garage for carb tuning this year. I haven't even picked it up yet.

It believe it's intermeccanica speedster rep (considered to be one of the most accurate replicas available) and is an earlier pan based kit.

It has a recent 1776 engine (I have the receipt for the long block) and is running twin carbs at the moment.
It runs great but would benefit from a vacuum advance distributor to get rid of a tiny flat spot but so many VWs run these I'm sure it won't bother most people.

The transmission is fully functional but a little loose in selection. It doesn't pop out of any gears or anything like that, but due to the long replica lever and being used to modern sports cars it's noticable that it's not in it's first flush of youth!

The body of the car is in pretty good condition but up close you can see light swirls and the occasional scratch in the bodywork. I have purposly found and added period accessories that have a very slight petina to them (I hate 356s that look all new)

The electrics are all working but would benefit from a tidy up (in that it has been overhauled but the original wires are still present)

The gauges work with exception of the mileometer and the oil temp gauge (these are 356 replicas and there is no oil temp sender in the car) The seats are speedster replicas and I think it was originally built by intermeccanica.

Generally the car would benefit from a little TLC (silly things such as small bits of piping around the dash could be tidier etc) The car fools everybody that it is real - even one of my neighbors who has a 356 cabrio (until I told him)

The car has recently had a suspension overhall with new ball joints where needed, also as I mentioned a carb tune up. Brakes were checked (discs front drums rear) and were found to be A1.

I've owned the car for just over 2 years and prior to that was registered in California. It is currently registered as a 68 beetle (on which the kit is based.) It has heater ducts but no heat exchangers fitted (this means there is no heat piped into the car but this could be fitted if you wanted)

The car is in Minneapolis MN and would be willing to help anyone who want to transport it.

This car is great on back roads, turns heads and makes people smile like you wouldn't believe and can keep up on freeways (but brakes being unservo assisted keep you on your toes). The 1776 twin carbed engine gives it a good turn of speed for such a light car.

It has a new roof (hood) but no side screens, (had a quote form the intermeccanica people of $300 for side screens) It also has a little cover on the back if you don't have the hood on.

I'm looking for $11,000 for it which I think is a steal but am open to offers
My cell is 612 845 2324
If you could help me conclusively say its and IM that would also be appreciated. I know about bugs but not so much about 356 reps
Thanks

this probably the biggest PITA with this forum - you cannot post picture, just little thumbnails to ones you upload to your own oddly managed gallery.

just put the link - and if you are going to use imageshack - use the last link in the option box:

"+ Show Advanced Linking
DO NOT Use Link Below when posting. Use FORUM Links above for posts"

It's a direct link to the image, not one wrapped in PHP driven pop-up ads like the one you posted:

this are the direct links:

Thanks for the help with the photolinks and the kind comments guys.
The guy I bought it from told me that it was built in the late 80's early 90's by intermeccanica (again I only have his word for it - is there an easy way to check?)
There are a few other things I ought to list about the car that aren't in the original post.
At present it only has a single lap belt. My wife isn't interested in the car and has only been driven by me last summer so hasn't been an issue.
The other is in the front of the car, the place where the battery is could probably do with a nice liner on top of the battery and over fuel tank to smarten it up. Nothing wrong with it as is but would look even better with one.
That's about it. It was a car I was going to keep forever and just keep playing with but I now realize I've taken too much on so she has to go - the car that is not the pregnant wife... but that is a thought... :O)
Other stuff you might like to know...
I have a $200 / $300 all weather cover for it (can't remember how much it was) that I stuff behind the seats in case it rains while the car is out on a drive somewhere that will come with it.
It's a really nice one with padded internal and optional ground anchor points. Also had a new fuel pump (to make sure the carbs were being well fed) last year along with new alternator, battery and filters. Nothing had failed on the car but I didn't know the age of the battery and didn't want the car to let me down while I was out enjoying it.
Again thanks for all your kind words and help with my posting skills!
Wow! What a response!
Thanks guys for all of the emails.
The car is currently 'on hold' from sale as there is possibly a sale pending depending on the cost to ship to Australia.
I have been asked by a number of people to take some more pictures which I will do and (try) to post them.
Again, thanks for all of the interest.
I will also scan and post an engineers report from the garage that has just done the carbs for me about what the little things are that are needed (eg what would tighten the transmission up etc)
I forgot to mention previously that the hood for the car is also very recent (2-3 years old) but has only been on the car for maybe 6 months. The rest of the time it's been the little cover.
Kester
I have picked my little tub up from the garage today. This is what they found when they checked it over:

Carbs are set to specification but needs vacuum advanced distributor or a 009 porsche distributor. Transmission synchronizers are worn, rebuild would be likely fix. Steering shaft bushing is worn, steering shaft moves a slight bit.

I asked what the transmission fix would cost and was told around $200-$300. I was expecting nearer $500. It doesn't have to be done though. The steering comment was new but driving her home I think they are right. Again they told me it wouldn't cost much to fix but it is something else you could live with (I have!)

The garage said I could leave it there for as long as I liked as it drew some great business for them!

Will post pictures and the original doc from the garage on Monday when my PC isn't steam powered :O)
