I just have to add my two cents worth ... I have both a VS Speedster and an original B Coupe. they are both wonderful cars and I put about the same mileage on each one each year. The VS is easier to work on and have repaired (I have been hit twice in one year and had lots of bodywork done). The Speedster is MUCH less expensive to have work done on and it is a blast to drive. The B is fun and the original 356 people are also fun and don't mind when I drive the VS with them. (OK, two fuddy-duddies are a pain in the #$%) The Speedster people are the BEST ANYWHERE! Far and away the most fun and the most honest (weeelll, there is Vince!!) My best suggestion is to rush out and get the best VS you can afford and start grinning a lot!! Next thing is to get ready to join us in Morro Bay on April 24-25. I guarantee you will have more fun than you can imagine.

Dusty, Truly am planning to go to Morro Bay. Would be great. You are the perfect guy to weigh/compare as you have them both (real and replica). The repair costs are probably prohibitive for the average guy.

Buy a good car of any marque, at a reasonable price, and the repair costs are not important if you do regular maintainence. Not many repairs that way. I have owned many exotics and have never spent excessive $$$ on repairs. I am just the average guy, too, and cannot afford high repair bills so I keep the cars in good shape and pray for no major problems. Remember, they are for driving and just having fun. Pick what makes you feel good and share the feelings with anyone who asks abouyt the cars.

I guess we can't Welcome you to the madness until you have your initiation, Gerd and Vince will tell you about that. Anyway, in my opinion VS is the way to go, Kirk and Mary are the best, they stand behind there product 110%, I have a VS that I bought brand new, I have had absolutely NO problems at all, she runs like a top. These cars are the most fun you can have, but the absolute best part is hanging out with the gang on this site, we have ALOT of fun together and I never would have know any of them if I did'nt have my car.
