Does anyone know how the third brake light is wired to the loom? I just purchased a used 2007 build and 3rd light does not work. I can not see where the wire from the light comes out of the lid to attach to the wiring loom. Perhaps it is concealed in a hinge but not sure. Before digging in hoped someone might be able to enlighten me. Thanks

For what it is worth Henry explained how the light is wired - the light is wired through the hinges to the engine cover. Power comes through one hinge and the other is the ground. The attachment points from the light to the hinge were no longer tight on my car. Tightening the screws put my light back in operation.
George, is the IM third brake light LED or bulb?
Ron, I am not sure. The unit looks to be hard to get to and I did not have to take it out to fix the lose connection. Unit is covered with a red lens that shows 3 primary points of light that could either be regular bulbs or LEDs. Light is very bright.
I didn't want to try and get my light cover off either. The reason why I wanted to know is I'm thinking of purchasing a Brake Light Strobe Module, but I think to work properly the bulbs need to be LEDs.

I installed one of these when I put in my rear center brake light, and I like it a lot.
Sounds like a good idea. Will it do any damage if bulbs are not LEDs? I realize it probably would not work on regular bulbs but if it did no damage then worth 4.95 to check and see.
Looks like it has to be LEDs. Found this in the text: "Use for LED brake lights & reverse lights only."
There are other brake light strobes that work with regular bulbs, but nothing as cheap.
