I did a little more searching and this is in fact a 1938 BMW 328. An original restored car sells for well north of $500,000. Replicas were made and Sbarro seems to be the ones that made them; http://car-from-uk.com/sale.php?id=49755 The ad for this one states the car came in several permutations such as a Standard, The America, and The Speciale. BMW inline 6s were used in some.

Here's one on BAT that didn't meet reserve: http://bringatrailer.com/2007/...-328-roadster-clone/

Definitely not a 1952 MG and definitely not an all metal 1938 BMW if it's only $15,500.

I smell a scam.

Lack of any details smacks of scam. Guess it could indeed be on an '52 MGTD chassis.  That chassis would take some serious beefing up to handle long front end, big wire wheels and  6 cylinder engine. Humm only 2 hrs east of me - maybe I can drag BobG along for a ride.

The Sbarro ones seem to all be polyester (fiberglass) and this one says metal. What you can see of engine (red metal valve cover) sure looks like old Chevy/Ford straight 6 with small carb sticking up!

I blocked my number and tried calling a half dozen times but no answer. Message said the number was not available. That leaves the only method of contact via email. So it would appear to be an email address collection scam. Once you email the seller they'll get your address and sell it to spammers.

This $700 Corvette Posted On Craigslist Turned Out To Be Worth Millions

There seems to be a few different versions of what happened to that car:

I found the third article to have the best information.

Depending on which version you believe the car was not sold on eBay as everyone passed over the ad. The original owner claimed it was stolen in the 70's and wanted the car back. A partnership bought the car, a judge got involved, and the case was settled.
