It only weighs like 1280# - I put my boat in the water and used my boat trailer to haul one for a friend. It worked very well. Long ride from MA to NV and return though. My CMC came crated in a pretty much open wooden crate years ago via Pilot trucking. Before CMC shipped "using their carrier" I had arranged thru my brother's company to ship. Turns out they shipped ignoring my shipping papers - fortunately it was same company. CMC charged to ship $1400 (Miami to VA)--- my pre-arranged shipping was $400! Since I had Pilot paperwork - only had to pay the $400 fortunately. I probably have a picture of the "crate" if that would help -- really just a perimeter frame with a couple cross slats.

Hey, swing by and pick up that one that GRU has for sale in MN for me while you're out there in NV! (I see a good retirement opportunity here - just put a rack on the top of a Winnebago and haul them coast to coast!)
NOT to hijack Cary original post BUT - Actually the 1280# was the shipping invoice weight amt for the crated kit and pieces from CMC. Several friends and I slid it off the delivery truck down 2x6's into the garage. To load the body onto the boat trailer it took 3 or 4 guys so guess weight was more like 700# without all the pieces. (You could use couple 4x4s, cinder blocks and a floor jack to raise it and slide trailer under it too). We loaded the pieces (glass, hood, trunklid, bumpers, gauges, lights) in after the body was on the boat trailer. We used 3" tie down ratchet straps to secure it and duct tape (of course). I'll add some pictures.
