This should be an interesting auction. Car is well documented in period, was re-engined to 2.0 liters and then to an S-90, re-bodied twice (it was made into a coupe in the '60s?!) and now is back to its original form with a Porsche factory (?) repop done two decades ago and series 3 four-cam.

Given where the economy is heading I'll guess this one brings no more than $3.5 million, and maybe a lot less. . .but everyone wants a 550.

I just spent about an hour studying all the closeups, wondering about the fuel tank, the inner clam panel, the clam stay (incorrect! fight me!), the central locating pins and clam latches, the fuse panel and upholstery. 

Especially curious about the chassis plate, which appears to have been re-stamped plenny.
