Just new to site i am half way thru a speedster build and lost my right leg above knee thats not my problem although plans change after ,so i am going with a duck clutch system on the speedster but i also as many have another project after the speedster this is my problem being in Australia i need to put my RSK on a beetle pan i have the mid mount worked out (but any extra help would not be refused) but its the transmission set up ie. reversing it (internals) and mainly the selector set up at the transmission end is where i am getting stumped (an amputee joke) this also will need a duck clutch set up as i wont go auto that can stay in the Hyundai show room Thanks for any info in advance Mark

Welcome Mark!
Transmission internals: Ring gear gets flopped to the other side of the transmission. If it's a 1973 SSC(single side cover) IRS trans, that's a no-go, the ring gear can't be swapped over. But if it's DSC(double side cover) either swing axle or IRS, it's no problem.
Hint: the ring gear ALWAYS goes on the left side of the car for a clockwise rotating engine.
Linkage: Jamar sells a mid-engine shifter and transmission piece to reverse direction of shifter action. Or you can just use a cable shifter setup, either from Greg at Vintage Motorcars or Brandwood. Honestly, the cable shifter is easier, I've messed with both. My current car has cable shift.
Thanks Danny i have a rolling pan swing axel and would like to keep it that way have you seen it done on a pan i know not the best but it is what it is here i will look at the cable sounds like the go as to swing axel any recommendations as to best thanks mark
If you're talking about gearing, then there are a LOT of threads on that. Engine size and usage have a lot to do with gear choices.
As far as a mid-engine on a pan, I have seen it done but have no personal experience with it.
There is a guy from England named Ian(I think) on the 550 Spyder FB page. His car is on a shortened pan and he made it mid-engine. Hopefully that helps.
I think that is James you are thinking of i have reached out to him thanks
