Good for you!
Great job - that project really started out with a nice patina on the body! Were you able to buff it all back or did you have to repaint to get such a nice finish.
I wet sanded the intire car with 2000 grit then buffed it.
Thanks
WoW! You did that ten times faster than mine! Mine took me 8 YEARS!
Looks really nice. You should be proud of it.
Nice work! What's up next? And what's the car in your avatar?
Awesome job RRR. The gelcoat looks very nice and the rest of the car is looking good. Now we'll need to see some glamour shots out on the open road.
Nice transformation
Ditto, damn nice -and quick too.

That’s some serious air cooled iron, @Rustrodsrule. More pics, please!
Mike: What the heck year is that? I thought it was a '53 Mercury from the hood and rear quarter lines, but the grill/parking lights are throwing me. That's gonna be one cool lead sled when you're done.
Dennis O'Brien (O'Brien Truckers hot rod parts) is a good friend but I'm slowly losing touch with my Hot Rod friends - they keep dying off...

I have a question about the rear deck lid or engine cover, Should it be vented ?
Thanks Mike
Wha do you mean vented? There are holes on the inside to the left and right of the rain tray. Some folks have spent some cash on a replica carerra lid which has 4 or 5 louvers on each side, but those aren't standard.
Big D shaped openings in both sides of inner rain shield liner.

Mike - Some also just use 4 rubber stand-off spacer washers to hold the engine lid away from the body - instead of a sealing rubber gasket. This lets more air (and water!) in and out of the engine compartment. If you have a CMC/FF check that the 1/2 moon shaped piece was cut out of firewall just forward of the engine fan.
