How's this for a change up? "The longest running indoor car show in the world." January 25,26,27,2008 at the L A County Fairplex in Pomona. Shuck, they might even have 2 or 3 flat fours in amongst the 500 or so V8, V10, V12, twin V8, . . uh, yeah, you get it. (Hint: the hot chicks are in the "suede palace"!)

Jim - I think this is part of the "hidden" economy I always hear about. 220 miles in a 16 MPG truck, pay for parking, pay to get in (cheapest thing on list so far?), pay $6.50 for a hamburger without fries. But I'll be there when the gate opens. It is a great show - every car there is virtually hand made!
I've worked with an old Street Rodder and his wife, Dennis and Sue O'Brien of O'Brien Truckers (they produce after-market parts for Hot Rods and Street Rods), who have been going to the Pomona Roadster Show for over 35 years. Just got off the phone with him and they'll be there THIS year, too. He always says that, of all the 30-odd shows he does each year (including judging a couple of shows in Hawaii and one on Guam) that the Pomona show is "NEVER TO BE MISSED!!"

Wish I didn't have to be in Florida with the mom-in-law that week...

I'm in!

FYI - WRT taking your Speedy, consider the following;

1.There will be thousands of people there and general parking is so huge they have trams to shuttle people from the parking lots to the exhibit buildings. This is probably the only situation I'd feel uncomfortable about leaving my Speedy in a parking lot. Food for thought; maybe some of us could car-pool to the show?

2. Parking is $8 - Preferred parking is $12; only advantage is slightly closer to exhibit buildings. Expect about 500-600 cars on display at the show.

3. Admission is $20 - Kids (6-12) $10

4. Gates open at 10:00am.

We could arrange to meet at the exhibit entry gates (ticket booth) at a pre-determined time , I'm up for anytime the group decides.
