902 4 speed transmission

I just looked up my transmission number and here is what it shows

902/01
1st A 11:34
2nd H 19:32
3rd Q 24:27
4th X 28:24
R/P 7:31
I have a 1914 engine. How does this setup look to you guys? How does this compare to the standard and freeway flyer engines Vintage offers.

Your going to have to be pushing 3800 rpm to run at freeway speed with that final drive and forth gear. An up-right air cooled VW engine needs to have a rpm at around 3300 rpm on the freeway to not over heat and rattle to death. The original 914 engine had a crank mounted fan that did not mind running thos rpms. I would go with a freeway flyer, or do the 915 5 speed gear box swap....

I take it there is also a 901 box with different gearing that would work as well. What should I be looking for?

I have someone willing to sell me a transmission from a 914 with this geraing

Would this be too much for my 1915?
