No Glen,

I don't mean me, or us, or the forum guys. I mean the lucky guys SELLING these cars? How do you get a 904 to make the molds from (I think that there are four left . . . ) and THEN secure the professionals to splash a body like that? And when you do, WHY would you EVER sell it?!

I found the original molds (and a completed car) for sale that were made by Automobile Atlanta to manufacture their 904-style kit that glassed onto the 914 tub. The molds AND car were being offered for under $5,000.00 outright. No auction.

There is SO MUCH cool stuff surfacing these day, it just seems amazing to me.

I guess that the "Where do people find/get these kind of things?" was sort of rhetorical. I'm just so surprised and thrilled by what turns up for sale. Stuff of magazine articles and TV car show programing suddenly being offerd on EBAY!?!?!?!

I LOVE IT!!!
I know some guys that ran a high end body shop. Everytime they got a unique high end car in for work, they would make a deal to include a full repaint. While the body was stripped and apart, they would make a set of molds. Redo the body work, prep and paint, and no ones the wiser. I'm betting they aren't the only ones doing that.
