Anyone know thw "fix" to adjust a 911 / 901 trans linkage? Pops out of first it's not the trans as the shifter became sloppy over a few days The shifter doesn't seem to "set" into the 1st gear position correctly

Waiting for that reply. Mine pops out of 4th when I climb a hill and try to accelerate a tad too high.

It's best to make a Porsche 901 (or 915, or G50) transaxle an option when the car is built. Upgrading to one is a BIG project, especially from a car originally built with a swing axle trans.
Check the bushing at the end of the shifter...it often wears and then its hard to shift accurately.
To set the linkage is pretty easy. Just take of the inspection plate where the linkage connects to the trans. There a U joint there. You can undo the bolt that tightens it up to the linkage and then adjust it and tighten up again. But I'd check that bushing first...I've ahd two 901 trans and both had that bushing gone.

I think I'll check my bushings. Hey Brian, what tranny oil are you using in your 901? I've got synthetic in mine, but I'm wondering if I should switch to Swepco 201. Very little leakage from the motor and tranny (in my 911 pickup).

Ron, I liked the sound of my 1967 Ferrari 330 V12 better than any of my Porsche 911's... kind of like two 911's singing the same song in close harmony.
