I have a set of both the 2L 914 Fuchs and Pedrinis. Both use a stainless steel center hub cover cap. Front ones appear to fit fine but the back ones hit the threaded axel which extends past the 36mm nut. Appears they need to be about 1/2" deeper. I've seen black plastic and alloy ones on ebay but they appear to be same depth. There are turned ones on ebay too --- they appear to be deeper. What are others with these OEM 914 wheels using?

Wolfgang,

I bought a set of the turned aluminum caps last year for my Pedrinis and they worked fine.
I do have a set of the plastic ones but have not tried them. If you're not in too much of a hurry I can fit one to my spare rim and see if they clear. They're not anywhere near as cool looking as the aluminum ones, though.

Wolfgang,
The aluminum caps are press-in. Very tight fit. I used a little grease and a piece of abs pipr that just fit over the cap and pounded them in with a rubber mallet.
I gave up polishing. They're too porous unless you have them done professionally. I had them media-blasted and powder coated in satin chrome. Topped off with clear coat.
If you were thinking of detailing them then it would be fairly easy to just polish the rim and ribs.
I'm looking for a second set to do that.
