I am looking for exhaust headers that can be used in the 356 Speedster. All I have seen so far would put the muffler too far back. Any ideas?

Check out Jake Raby's website. He has Type IV exhaust that will fit speedsters and bugs.
$$$ custom ones or use VW 411/412 or 72 VW T2/bus thru about 76 (watch head port shape changes between 1.7/1.8 and 2.0L) heater boxes if ya want heat. I used T2 --- which had the outer steel rusted away. Put in fire place to melt off the alloy heat exchangers. Will have to shorten them a couple inches. You could use the flanges only and build your own too.
The Type 4 engine is VERY particular in its exhaust choice, due to the exhaust port design of the cylinder head.
My A-1 header fits most all Speedster replicas with no issues at all.
I am also finishing up the production of my "Econo header" as we speak. This header is designed to be a low cost, effective system for engines up to 2.1L
The retail price of this system is 450.00 and we should have a run of them done by the end of this month. I have been testing/developing the prototype since early July, 2005.
My A-1 header fits most all Speedster replicas with no issues at all.

No pics have been released yet, the system has undergone serious changes and is not in a production state at the present.
