Small update this weekend.

I have had a few 914 speedos in my car, all ultimately suffering the same fate, broken odometer.

I find Odo handy for 2 reasons:

- My insurance is based on limited mileage, need to prove what I'm doing

- Fuel gauge is not that accurate, estimating on miles covered is a backup !

First unit was u/s on speed and odo so I took it apart as a trial run

Next unit I repaired using this guide, ( http://www.pelicanparts.com/te...ult_gauge_repair.htm )

It all worked but for some reason the speed was reading at least 10mph over !

So , I took my third gauge, repaired, and now its all working, and, 100% accurate, (as checked by GPS)

Touch wood, I have a fully functioning instrument set, for the first time happy days !

Its the simple things that often give the most satisfaction.....!

Cheers

Gerry
