I posted last night but the thread looks messed up. Anyway, I want to clean up my dash mold marks, gel coat marks, etc. I have a very solid body and fiberglass guy who can fill in the old gauge holes, etc. I also want to get rid of the funky 914 gauge cluster? I don't know what these VDO gauges came from. Anyway, here is my question.
How easy will it be to convert the setup from these working gauges over to a correct repro set? The speedometer seems easy, as it's a cable. How about the rest? Can somebody educate me on what all the factory gauges read?
1-speed
2- tach
3- temp?
4- gas
What else?

Those are NOT 914 gauges in your car - the red needled ones are most likely VDO Cockpit gauges - not sure on the white needle one but probably Night Design or Night Vision (does the needle light up). So you probably have stock VDO sending units. The 914 Tach is much larger than the speedo on 914 and does not have an adjustable redline. The 914 Speedo does not have odo reset on face (its separate cable under the dash).
