Well, I guess we know who won that auction.
Great buy under 11K!
But not so much a week later when it moves 1000 miles from FL to TX and gains $8000.
I'm pretty sure that "door handle" is really a roof mounted grab handle from a mini-van. Nice creative use of an existing part.. although I think a different color would be better.

The ebay example is slightly different than the flatter one in the pic. But it sure looks like it had the same parents. There are spray on products to match vinyl/leather colors available for plastic components. It would be an interesting touch if the right color.
I don't know Gre,g but even at 18K it looks to be a quality build well worth the price if it floats your boat.
