Has anyone seen the white IM on ebay? 1997 build with 12k miles for $75,000. Isn't that a little overly optimistic on the seller's part?

YIKES! Maybe if it had a 911 engine, trans and suspension...
take a look at how the luggage rack is mounted.......
That's a beautiful car but you could get a new one with those specs for $75K. Thinking about $40k.
It's a great IM, but as Phil mentioned you can buy a nicely equipped, new IM for 75K.
I imagine he's trying to get what he put into the car, plus the dealer's markup, but that won't happen.
I'd say it's in the $40,000 to $45,000 range.

Yup. That should be the asking price...
Me thinks a little research would make sense for the seller too. A Speedster upwards of six figures? That was a while back. I'd say his asking price is upwards of six figures.
I for one, hope they get their price! LOL!
that was listed a year or two ago. didn't sell then either.
at that price i expect to see it rolled out for sale for quite a few years to come.

HA,used the holes for the twin grille! How tacky. Just wait for spider cracks in the engine lid.

WOW! Amazing!
That's a helluva rear fog light. Kind of like the small hellas but that's a little much. Interior looks very tired. Car looks best from the bottom. Nice exhaust.
I've thought of the rear fog light re-purposed as a brake light, but that one's just too big.
At first glance, the red one wins the "which one is a better deal" contest. IMHO.
That 911 powered IM has been for sale for a while too (or there have been multiple sellers). I'm not sure why it hasn't sold, since a new 911 powered IM is in the 100K range.
Good Grief!...Now wouldn't you think that with such an expensive build that a luggage rack with posts for a single grille attachment would have been sourced??
The rack on my '61 Roadster had mounting bars with two sets of spaced holes for either single or double grilles...That has to be the owner's idea, 'cause Henry would never have botched it like that.
....perhaps mounting the rack like that provides some heretofore unrealized positive aerodynamic effect...or somebody screwed up, and I'm certain it wasn't Henry...
That's what makes the luggage rack mounting even sadder Carl. It DOES have the mounting holes for a single grill.
Builder is probably still wondering what the extra four holes are for!
At higher speeds when the needs arises for rapid deceleration, a hidden cable is actuated, flips open the suitcase lid.... a new fangled air brake option.
You can always ask, if you aren't afraid of the answer....

Oddly, I like the large brake light on the Ebay roadster. Any idea where you can find one?

Les,
If you're serious then do a periodic 'The Samba' search for such an item.
Every now and then one is posted for sale...usually from Europe, and usually for whopping big bucks...as is everything they advertise!
Somehow they must have the impression that we're all dope dealers rolling in dough, or corrupt politicians rolling in dough.
There are several on Samba right now. I would prefer something a bit smaller like 4" instead of 6" in diameter.
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, that Moss and Jenkinson won the Targa Florio in 1955, had a air brake system that would flip open a large flap when the brakes were used. I believe it was outlawed afterwards because it would obstruct following drivers vision.

Isn't that actually a rear fog light?
Yup. I would probably wire it into the brakes, though.
