where did u get your pedals
Gerd, I had them for some time as they came with a project speedster a few years back and sat collecting dust on a shelf. The box does says "Denmark" on it. No too long ago someone mentioned where the were available from. Perhaps a "pedal" search will turn up the source ~Alan
I wanted to mention that the additional holes I cut in the deck lid are necessary when using the Weber progressive. when the deck lid is closed the air cleaner takes up a good portion of the hole I cut in the underside to allow for the deck lid to close over the air cleaner. By opening up the L & R underside allows for additional air flow in the engine bay that is partically blocked by the air filter under the engine grill.
I also make sure that the engine area above the exhaust has a good seal. But, I go against the standard total engine bay sealing belief by leaving a 1" gap between the rear firewall and the back engine tin, this also tends to allow for clean air to enter and vent out throught the additional holes I bored in the deck lid. ~Alan

I had that little firewall gap opened on my car since bringing it to the Low Country last September...
Found that, since there is SO MUCH sand down here (the entire Low Country is like a big beach) I get a WHOLE LOT of sand blown in all around the engine. It vacuums out OK, but it's a nuisance, so I closed it back up and haven't noticed much of a change in engine temp (mine ran pretty cool before, too).

Hey Alan
I love the Miata show bar !!
How much fettling did you have to do to make it fit? i have miata seats in my speedster so the bars would just about finish it off.
regards
Steve

About an hour and a half, do a search here as the install was posted some time ago. Basicaly you cut the four factory tabs off the bar, runa grinder over the cuts to finish them off a bit bend a 5" T hinge 120 degrees. ( drive out the heavy rivet)
The roll bar bolt that comes pre-attached bolt, pass that thru the T hinge and bolt it to the body . If you purchase off of eBay, there are two different quality has one is dirt cheap $50 or so but the welds are not polished and a thinner gauge than the $150 bar, both fit fine. ~Alan

Runs & Drives!
I put ten miles on it the car afternoon, no rattles or squeaks. handles very well considering I didn't push it hard. Top down I passed a guy burning brush in his yard (a moment of Oh Sh*t' as I got the first whiff and looked in the rear view mirror for the Hibatchi grill flames) ) The only things I noted to do is to adjust the steering bump stops to allow a tighter turn radius, a small oil leak at the filter housing fitting, set the carb mixture for the best performance & finish the Lexan show bar wind deflector. Looking forward to Carlisle ! ~Alan
