Hey Guys

I talked to Tiger yesterday and put my order in for an exhaust system.  I am going with the center exit with the 1 5/8 primaries, J tubes and no heater boxes.  One thing Tiger brought up was he has never built a jig for the Beck Speedster.  He said from what he understands on the Beck the motor is 2 inches forward compared to those speedsters built on the VW pan.  He is not worried about the headers but is concerned with the muffler hitting the breaks.  He said he would take his best guess and modify the muffler  tack welding the tube on for me to make adjustments.  I would then have to finishing the welding and send the muffler out for coating.  Any thoughts?

Also I went with the ceramic coating vs the stainless steal.  Should I also be opting for the band connector for the muffler to make easier for value adjustment?  Tiger did not mention that option.  How is the muffler from Tiger?  I forgot to ask him if it is the Magnaflow or something else.  The price of the whole thing was great.

It's not a full 2" but it is forward of the belly pan cars, plus our lower apron is slightly longer (closer to the ground) more like the original 356.

The ones Tiger makes for me I have him leave raw and I don't have him weld the muffler, that way we can fit them to each car.  The positioning can change with drums, stock discs and Wilwoods so we never jigged as it is just easier for us to fit them here.

They used to be magna flow but now they are a custom muffler with an "A1" tag on them, private labeled for Tiger.

For hanging I just have him put a small tab on the back side of the muffler (actually towards the front of the car) and we fit a strap to secure it there.

re: stock discs, you'll have to play with the rotation of the muffler for proper clearance.  We also change the angle of the reducer open the muffler side of the bolt flange.  We do this for added ground clearance but it isn't 100% necessary.  Actually it is a lot of extra work for the added 1/2" of ground clearance
