@Kevin - Bay Area This car belongs to Ibrahim Kuzu — he is the fellow that made the 4 cam fan shroud on my spyder. He bought the car from Mike Robbins, who was famous for attending every Porsche Parade.
Cool stuff for sure!

that car is ROLLING ART!....i LOVE IT!...it is right up there with steve mc queens speedster that was on display at the peterson museum ....valued at $5 million dollars
@Kevin - Bay Area Kevin, thnx for keeping me on your radar! Very cool car, indeed! Awesome provenance behind those 500L miles.
$100,000+ and fourteen days to go...
I need to check my pictures, but I think this is the one that joined us on the first (or second?) assault on the Tail of the Dragon in ‘07 or ‘08. It was driven from Indiana by a friend of the original owner who was in the right seat. He said he bought it in June ‘58.

Well, I've been to almost every Carlisle...
Does that count?
I like mine better: but its NOT mine any longer! Nice guy from Kailua(OAHU) closed the deal this morning..
It was heart wrenching to let "FELIX"(I named her Felix) go....the coolest, fastest, most slick SPEEDY in all of the civilized world . Beautiful to look at, wonderful to drive, more comfy and blow the doors off any original(at 20% the price)and NEVER rust
No longitudinals, no floor pans, no 1600cc backfarts/cough/sneeze/coocookachoo
GOOD HEALTH and SAFE DRIVING IN YOUR TUBS FOR 2020 AND BEYOND
I"M BOTH JEALOUS AND GRATEFUL!
Good for you Banzai.
Congratulations on the sale.

BITTER SWEET...Practical but otherwise downright depressing....
Not sure what to say here. Glad you found a buyer, and one close to home, but sad to see that beautiful vehicle leave this site. I was enamored with it when I saw it in person, and enjoyed it every time you posted a shot here.
Best to you, Banzai, in everything in life.
^^^What Bob said^^^ Loved seeing pics of it and hearing the story of your journey. Of course, I really loved the alloys, and the 6's turned into 7's for the back. It truly was one very cool Speedster! Got any last pics you want to share? Even if you've previously posted them- any favorite pics?

Just couldn't risk a final shot, could you?
Merry Christmas!

MY BAD...I was referring to replica owners having LESS concerns than the 500K BAT buyer...MOST(?) replica owners have less worrisome issues with floor pans, longitudinals, and 60 years old 1600cc...
A reflection of ME liking my EX IM6 better than the 500K BAT original...less to worry about AND a likely better ride. I applaud replica owners for their humility for embracing that which is ridiculously UNAFFORDABLE...
I tend to disagree. If you can afford to “easily” drop down $500k for a car, then there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying it the way we enjoy our $20k-$100k replicas.
it’s all relative.
I think we tend to make a bigger deal out of driving the $500k+ car because that’s quite a chunk of change for a majority of us.

The "potential problem " is that parts are scarce enough even for replicas...I have waited months for parts AND NOW, nobody is making towel bars anymore? I guess if you are a billionaire, you can commission a machine shop/metal superstar to make anything.....and theoretically it might then be NO LONGER original...
I had a DAYTONA SPYDER for a year back in 1980 and waited 7 months for a small dinky part and the car was 7 years old....NOT 60.. I've seen cars lose .7 points at a show for a "replacement/non original" wiper stem...
Its all good...new/old/older/original
Parts sourcing aside, if your budget and discretionary spending is really high then you can dispose of that income at your leisure and you can lose that amount without you getting stressed out about it. That is just human nature plain and simple.
No one is hungry, no one is dying, no one is poor or will have a lifestyle change because you lost a million. Hey a million is a lot of money for most but not for some
