Nina & I enjoyed the Malibu cruise so much, we would love to help plan an event. If it is cool with Jim Ignacio!!!

Here is the idea (just preliminary):

Saturday Dec. 6th

Meet at 10am at Reagan Library Simi Valley, CA
http://www.reaganlibrary.com/

Spend approx. 2 hours at the Library for X-mas tree exhibit (and the Airforce One plane exhibit)
(10am-12noon)

Cruise Santa Rosa Canyon
(12noon-1pm)

Ventura Pier for lunch at Eric Eriksen's
(1:30-3:00)

OPTIONAL:

Camarillo outlet stores for shopping; bring the co-pilots for this one!! (3:30-5pm)

If we can get enough folks together for it, I will work out a group rate at the library and the lunch spot!!

Let me know your thoughts!!

Thanks

Billy, my bad-ass/flared-Speedster-driving/sushi-slicing/Homega-dissing/boat-racing/too-much-fun BRUTHA!!

That sounds like a GREAT cruise idea!! Ginny & I are TOTALLY in for this cruise. We've marked our calendar, let me know how I can help. I have some automotive give-away stuff we could put in a raffle. Looking forward to hooking up with our SOC friends!

Stay as cool as you are and have a bitchen summer...

Peace - Out!
One more thought...since we are in unstable economic times, would the cruise still be viable if there were a set fee for the Reagan Library entry and a set-menu lunch on the Ventura pier??

Just guessing (have not investigated yet)the library could be around $20 and maybe lunch is $15-$18 PP....would try to keep it $35-$40 per person and it would be inclusive. Just some forethoughts!
Sounds like a great ride, but let me throw in my 2 cents, since that's all I have. After leaving the library, instead of taking Santa Rosa, (it's like a real straight road all through the valley), I would suggest heading for Moorpark and take Balcom Canyon to the 126 and then west to Ventura Harbor. There are lots of twisties in that run and it wouldn't take much longer. If you wanted to drive even further, we could go the back way up to Ojai, out of Santa Paula, then down to the harbor. That route would take a little longer and might be too long to wait for chow, unless we stop in Ojai. Just a thought. Another idea would be to go north out of Ojai on Hwy 33, which would dump us out just south of Carpinteria and then head to Santa Barbara for chowder at Brophy Brothers. It might be wine time by then. Ah, maybe that's too much for the southern folks.

Warren, cool idea.....maybe we can coordinate and make a map so the cruise goes smoothly through the canyon??

If we can get 15-20 cars, then we can start inking the details!!

Thanks for the input.

Vince - A library is where your girlfriend used to go while you were out cruising on Colorado Blvd. I know, I think I saw you at Bob's. For you out-of-staters, that's where we used to cruise to for Cokes and Hamburgers and show off our rides. I am sure everyone had a Bob's in their area. Yeah, I was raised in Pasadena.
Billy, add me to the list man. I wouldn't miss it. Wouldn't it have been nice to have a ride like yours back then? Well, that's a dumb question, you are way too young to know what I am talking about..... Just getting back at you for making a big deal about having new young blood in the group. Just kidding, everyone is welcome. Welcome Scotty. Thanks for putting up with us old guys. I may be old, but I am not slow.
Mickey - Fly out man, you can drive my ride.
