I'm not sure why, but I kinda like it.

Different, what up with the fron turn signals in the engine bay?
fancy vents to cool the carbs?
Car was built for a large man. Notice the width of the drivers seat. I believe Thunder Ranch.
Turn signal lights and horn vents are connected to the vents on the outside of the intake vents just forward of of the rear fender wells. This is pretty thoughtful but they don't have the square inches of area (combined), to equal the hole that VS cuts into the firewall in front of the fan intake. This car was illustrated in some other magazine. I really like this application. If I were to install this modification I would get the extra benefit of built-in trouble lights in the engine compartment !

I agree with Bruce; they're just the air access holes dressed up. And I've always thought some light in the engine compartment would be a good idea.
i'm not a fan. looks like the doors have been frenched in.
and IMO, those wheels do nothing for the car.
looks very clean though!
I guess with those vent/inlets directed to the engine bay can justify the Porsche shroud cooling issues? I do like the suicide doors though!
The suicide doors can come in real handy if you are going too fast and you need brake assist...
Or scoop up that blond on the corner....
I agree with you Paul, on both points; the doors take away from the lines of the car. I guess I'm a bit of a purist, though; just about any body mods I've ever seen interrupt and spoil the iconic 356 shape. And the Turbo Twist wheels are ok on a new Porsche, but don't do it for me here...
^ like putting a leather jacket on the Mona Lisa!
I'm with ALB.
If the doors were flush with the rest of the body, then that'd be different. Then the continuity of the body line would be uninterrupted and it'd flow better. I might even make an offer if that were the case (and, of course, if the driver's seat could be sectioned).
Like the batmobile of Speedsters.
The area directly behind the doors doesn't work for me either.
I look at that car and all I see is this:
I know that's rude and not warranted but that's what I see.
There is no denying the amount of work that went into the black car. There is no denying the craftsmanship of the finished product. It's just not my cup of tea.
Ted
OK Jimbo, I can't resist. There are some who like a woman in leathers.
I agree, Ted; there's no denying it was extremely well done. I think it's yet another case of "just because you can doesn't mean you should". Ron's comment is spot on, and Jim summed it up nicely...
And where did you find that red thing?
What IS that thing, Ted? Is it Porsche's attempt to meet upcoming EU safety regulations for external pedestrian airbags?
Carrera "man" couch!
Too much botox

If I had that car I'd get one of these...

Allergic to P-nuts!!
It's a good book Bob. Lots of details. I remember that story about the hinges also. Funny that that kind of thing can be taken for granted.....
And Jim, funny as I thought the same thing only a bee sting instead....

There is nothing wrong with a woman in leather..
But why do truck drivers really get excited when the see a woman in tight black form fitting leather -is it the smell or feel of the leather..
No - it reminds them of their truck...
