Out here in Pa. we have an annual "Make a Wish Truck Convoy".
Each trucker collects sponsorship monies and donates out of their pockets too. The proceeds benefit the "Make A Wish Foundation". Last year, they had 79 large trucks with a kids riding shot gun and yanking on the air horns as they traveled through the local towns..what a site to see and .........hear :) ~Alan
Wow, great Job, I am sure you have given him a great thing to dream about at night and relive in his thoughts.

People really have no idea how much this type of thing can mean to someone. It really doesn't take much, but it really makes a diffrence.

I happen to have a daughter with Rheaumatoid Arthritis, we raise money for the arthritis foundation, this money goes towards kids with autoimmune disease's, they get to attend camp in the summer and several other activities during the year. My daughter looks forward to these events so much, she loves to be with other children where she can feel accepted (you should see the big smiles on these kids faces) and the only way it happens is by generous people making small donations.

Proof that small things can make a HUGE diffrence, cheers to you!!!
I honestly didn't think the story would make it to any of these forums, it was nice of Hoss to post. Dick and his family are great people - I'm not sure who was more thrilled, Dick or his wife Joy and daughter Tammy. It was an honor that I was able to fullfill his request, especially during this very difficult time.

Here is one segment from drive.... please note that Dick could not talk much over a whisper;

while traveling at a decent clip down a two lane road we approached several slower moving vechicles. we had just passed one car a few miles earlier. as I leaned over and shared w/ Dick that there were at leaset 3 or more cars in our way - without hestiation he said "then pass them all".

Although Dick's body may be giving out, his spirit has not. It was a pleasure meeting the Spadafore family and taking Dick for the ride I will never forget.
