The sales price on the center seat 718 RSK Spyder in the first photo was $3.8 million.
How would one get in that car?
I’m assuming the Le Mans Coupe didn’t sell @ Southeby’s. It’s still listed as POA. I think they were estimating ~$7.5mil.
Interesting tidbit from the notes:
By 1960, 0104 resided with Tad Davies, and it remained a competitive entry across the SCCA’s Pacific Northwest Region’s F-Modified class until late 1962. The car next passed as a non-running project to S.K. Smith of Medford, Oregon, who installed a flat-six engine and five-speed transaxle procured from a Chevrolet Corvair and Porsche 356, respectively.
Did any 356 ever come with a 5 speed? I’m guessing they actually meant a 64 911.

The RSK still has doors. I'm pretty sure that one side of the extra bodywork is removable or hinged.

The 550a already had a 5 speed. But yeah, 356 models did not.
I had molds for making a 718 RSK. No one knew what it was and it just sat there.
I sold the molds to a guy in AUS named Adalbert. I think that the mold has been sold a couple of times. You can see it in front of the RHD Kitmam Motors body in AUS. Not sure of what its future will be.......... just not mine anymore.
Cheers,
Dr. Chris

So this 1956 356A GS Carrera ended up getting $935K!
Sadly, this other 1956 356A only got $313K :-(
Was it the wheels or the Carrera badge? Or maybe the motor that makes it worth the extra $622K...?!

Original four-cam cars are worth a mint. Just so.

^ that. I'm not sure you can buy a 4-cam engine for $622k.
This is not a market grounded in realities.
When Jack restored Dean Jeffries’ custom Carrera, he got a rebuilt one for free!
More hype means more money. This is what these auctions are about.
Also, note the shape of the bottom of the second car's door. It's a bit wonky, possibly indicating some poor quality body work.

An original 547 engine is 300-ish but the rebuild might double it so Stan's maybe in the ball park.
