Does any one know anything about this car? This pic is the only thing I have (as usual, I stole it off the internet); I'm guessing it's got 911 underpinnings?

i'm pretty sure i've been for a ride in that car. (except the plate - don't know where that is from)
IIRC it was henry's (of IM) younger brother's (or he built it)

Louis Vuitton seats. Really?
Poser.
Guess that's a conv D outlaw. Kind of cool. But he's still a poser. What next. David Yurman switches and Breitling instruments.
That car was for sale a while back. I recognize the unusual exhaust system.
What's with the twin exhaust tips?
What am I looking at?
And it has disc 'breaks' too.
Now I'm bewildered!
I always thought that restricting the free flow of exhaust by creating backpressure was a no-no.
What is it I'm not getting here...
What are the benefits? and why Have I never seen a Super Trapp before?
Super Trapps were/are big on motorcycles as well. Been around for a long time. Never cared for the sound personally.
Carl- All engines need a certain amount of exhaust back pressure- too much restricts power, not letting a full charge into the combustion chamber (and some of the spent fuel/air mixture staying for the next burn) and not enough pressure can allow some new mixture past the exhaust valve and into the exhaust port/primary tube, possibly igniting in the header, where (among other things) the energy from the fuel burn is wasted (which is actually the least of your worries). Super trapps are not quiet, so they're not used much on the street. And I agree with Frank- I'm not a fan of them either. Al
And thanks guys for the info.
I suspect my low bux conversion which includes a low bux exhaust replete with just a shortish Cherry Bomb muffler would fit into the second scenario of Al's good description. I do get a backfire occasionally on start up which might prove that point...or not. The intake manifold is not optimal, I'm sure. Wasted gas or not, it works and I do high mileage.
I agree Supertrapp sounds like crap, but many have successfully used them for tuning.
