...can anyone help?
The 2 warning lights on the tacho I guess are :
blue = high beam ; green = generator
Is this correct?

My combo gauge has the 4-warning light configuration ie:
2 outer red and 2 inner green.
What are these for? (From left to right)
The one inner green has some sort of refector inside and the lens is blocked, so I'm guessing this is the dial illuminator bulb?
One of the red lights must be oil pressure? If so what are the remaining 2 lights for?

Thanks,
Mitch

Ahhhh, the Vintage wiring du jour. My alt/gen light is red, high beam blue. I used the one of the additional lights to tell me my running lights were on and I don't think I have a green light among 'em.
As I experienced it, two were for dunction and two were 'accessory'

Recently the folks at Vintage WERE answering my email questions if you want to tippy-toe type an inquiry to them...

The Brazilian "repro" VDO gauges have too many lights on them, and some lights that are not as originally configured. What IM does is hook up the large red for the alternator and the two small reds in the tach for oil pressure, and the blue for high beams. Of course the arrows are for turn indicators.

The Palo Alto Speedometer and North Hollywood Speedometer VDO custom gauges have the original Porsche 356 idiot light configurations.
Thanks for the replies.
Forgot to mention that my 3 gauges are original 6V 356 VDO's
from Parts Obsolete

PA Speedo has a picture of the 4 light combo gauge like mine.
Probably an early 356 gauge? - before oil pressure scales.
Even the oil temp module does not have a scale readout - just a line with some min and max markings

I think this is the one that VDO Brazil copied?
Unfortunately they made one slight error with the wording.
They have "OIL COMBO" instead of "OIL TEMP"
But, who am I to nitpick - if I had those gauges, at least they'd be
working in my speedster ;-)

See Ricky, its the opther three letter part of your anatomy that starts with 'A' where the dragons go... Live and learn.

I don't know what to tell you about getting through to Vintage? I emailed and they replied. I still don't have my new windshield, but I feel if I just visulaize it a luttle longer....and chant a little louder, "OOOOOOOOHHHHHMMMMMMMM"

Rick,
I'm sure Vintage email has been just as clogged as mine has been over the past couple of weeks. Because their address is posted on the public net, like many of mine, virus ladden computers pick it up and use it as a return mail. This translates into thousands of emails. I have been getting about 200 spam and virus rejects a day. My spam filters are getting very aggressive and it means that more and more legitamate email is getting sucked into the filter. This is probably happening to Vintage as well. Try giving them a call, or changing to wording of your email in hopes it gets through.

BTW, if I have missed your email questions or comments, please post a reminder in the "Site/Club Enhancements" section.
I'll post a message similiar to this in there as well.
