Regretfully it would require shipping from Brazil
Think outside the box, here.........
You could DRIVE it up from Brazil. Now THAT would be an adventure!!
I've driven all around from Mexico to Ecuador and the roads are usually pretty good with often spectacular scenery. Might be a hoot to drive the Eastern routes of SA in a Cabriolet.
Just food for thought......
I remember (fondly?) traveling from Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Costa Rica in one of these Citroens - damn things just go and go....seemingly unstoppable.
You could easily drive sort-of along the coast to Belém, then put it on a boat to Manau (it is the Amazon river, after all), and then up through Venezuela to Central America (stopping for a couple of days in Belíze, of course), and pick up Route 1, crossing over to Oaxaca and Tehuacán and onward to Matamoros/Brownsville. Could maybe do it in 15 days to Houston, but I would throw in another week for sightseeing (or perhaps delays at border crossings, and you don't want to stop in the Amazon forest because the natives have blow guns).
Get a little notoriety in the local (Brazilian) newspaper before you leave, take the clippings with you and the car becomes your passport at border crossings. It worked for me, getting into el Salvador, once.
NOW is the time to go - it's Winter down there (relatively speaking) til you hit Central America and even then quite pleasant up in the hills.
It might help to take a Canadian (and his/her passport) along with you to do the talking.....
I'm just sayin'....
What a coincidence Gordon, That's such a great bargain$$ that I was thinking the same thing!...
Except my fantasy scenario had me 'touring' north out of Brazil (with the plates and registration from the speedster to avoid export fees)... cheerfully waving at border guards as I headed to Panama and closed container shipping to an East coast port.
I'll ride shotgun (if I can bring my Mossberg 500 Persuader). Need some protection from banditos and cartels. I'm sure you'll need mucho payola for each border crossing.
Greg, you're such a cynic!
Are you implying that border crossing authorities are prone to corruption... and can be bribed?
And a Mossberg cannon?...tsk, tsk
It's needless protection against the warm hospitality our southern neighbors have for Americans.... Besides, Gordon's charm will surely smooth over any improbable, but uncomfortable, situations you might encounter.
CASH is king and most likely would be a better persuader in South America than an illegal firearm...unless of course you register it with each country for "hunting" to make it legal. All the same for whoever takes that ride, it would be an adventure any way you look at it!
Nicely done REPLICA of a Super 90 but not worth $25000 after shipping to US in my estimation...and it is right hand drive. Better deals to be had in the US I'm thinking.
Dutch;
I know it's only TV, but when I've watched some HGTV shows, when they are buying houses/apartments, in South America, specifically Brazil and Argentina, the transactions are all done in cash. I don't recall the purchases were even financed, just cash.

Right hand drive? Not in the pics I saw in the listing.
But...an ebay seller with a big fat ZERO feedback in a South American country. Yeah, no thanks.

Hello Era - If you click on the link in the original post from Lane Anderson and scroll down to "Item Details" you will see that it is a RHD (right hand drive). I totally agree that it would be a big risk to buy from an eBay seller with no feedback...
"...you will see that it is a RHD (right hand drive)"
That has to be a typo as the pictures clearly show LHD.
SOLD - Suspect they meant to enter RWD (Rear wheel drive) as pictures show LHD.
Whatever became of the Alaskan Envemo coupe of a couple of years ago that Art Linkletter's son purchased? As I recall it was a whopping good deal...besides, instead of having to bribe guards at half a dozen border crossings you only had to one English speaking border to deal with!!
John Steel has/had it, Mr Linkletter wanted someone to ship it to him overseas several weeks ago.

As Wolfgang indicated, it is a typo. Drive type implies RWD, FWD, or AWD. Not where the steering wheel is. Pics show an LHD car.
