I miss that park. For years as a teen I'd hit the Jazz Fest every August, with friends or relatives or both. No money to stay so it was usually an early morning and late night; we radical-camped in the woods next to a farmer's field one year.

In 1988-9 I lived on McAllister Street, just up from Thames. Missed the fest that year but got to the park & the fort a few times (oil spill, etc.)

Haven't been back in years. It's just a beautiful spot. Maybe next year I'll drive Bridget up...

Frederick!

Got just the cruise for you, but you'll have to ride a ways from the Cape to join us:

TYP356ne is going to the "Vanilla Bean Cafe" in Pomfret, CT on Wednesday, October 19'th.  Meeting in Bellingham, MA around 10AM-ish, and cruising back roads to the 'Bean.  Return via RT 44 to Providence and back to the Cape via I-195.  We meet in Bellingham around 10-ish AM (cruise departs at 10:30 sharp-ish) and leave the 'Bean, after lunch, around 1:30pm.

I'm running this tour, so I invite you, the Gallos and Boothy, too, if he can find us, and anyone else in the southern New England area.  We usually get a dozen or so cars with a mix of originals and replicas.  Last year, I met my freshman year college room mate after 40 years of going in different directions and saw his beautiful '65 356 coupe.

Think about joining us!  You can visit the Sharpe Hill Vineyard near Pomfret, too!

More info here:  http://www.typ356ne.org/schedule.htm

If you can't make this tour, I can easily be coaxed into driving out onto the Cape sometime in October, too.  We can certainly work something out, weekday or weekend!

Gordon

Oh!  And I thnk the owner of that Bali Blue coupe lives in south Tiverton, MA, over near Adamsville.
