had my car lowered some as per the consensus here and now i have to be REAL aware of road gradation differences.
i have 3 1/4" to bottom corner of muffler. speed bumps require almost a full stop on top and intersecting roads and especially driveways are a challenge.
can a thin piece of stainless sheet be attached(glued?) to muffler to keep it from scraping. can the muffler be raised somehow?

I tried that on the Supertrapp system I was running once. See pics. Held the stainless on with long pop rivets and held it out from the muffler with a bunch of washers. It helped deflect some of the scrapes. I was thinking of trying to raise the motor up within the chassis a bit, maybe use spacers on the motor mount. In the end I went with another exhaust.

Because my Supertrapp exited on the driver's side I always tried to enter a driveway turning left and when backing out too. This way the exhaust is on the high side and not on the low side scraping the road.

Bob, there was a recent pic posted of a real clean install. The muffler was tucked all the way up between the valve covers and the tires. Its was a recent JPS or Vintage build. I just cant remember who it was. I don't have room so mine hangs low too. Sounds like Chinese food huh "hunglo" or maybe a porno "A-1 Hung Low" You get used to it.

Bob,

Carey is currently building a Beck Speedster for me with an A1. I'm having the car built as a '58 with the exhaust tips routed through the bottom of the rear bumper risers (only year the car had this feature). The build has started and I may have some pictures as early as this upcoming week.

I thought that this was a cleaner look and improved ground clearance.

Here's a link to a real '58 to show what I'm talking about.

When I get a picture of my car with the A1, I will post it.

Tom
Here's my A-1 tip.... As you can see I tweaked up it to avoid ground clearance issues.
Then.... talking to Barnco on the phone... he tells me that he is draggin' the rear corner of the muffler.
Well, no shit! So do I occasionally!
Kids, ya gotta remember that Bob is a (back-words) mountain goat that ain't got NO flat land where he lives'
I just had to tell him to "learn how to drive that thing!".
Hopefully, he will see the error of his ways!
