Replacing my clutch and pressure plate, and the 8.8 (new) bolts are snapping at 18lbs! Fricken Chinese junk!

Wait for the day you snap a new gland nut off on the crankshaft end...that's pure joy to behold !
I got the broken piece out with the help of freon ~

Not on my island of Kauai!
Bad news but I'd rather snap them with a wrench on the stand than with my right foot on the road.
BUMMER, Bill! Would it possible for you to find higher grade replacement bolts at machine shop or VW repair shop (if any on Kauai)? Hope you can get it all sorted out!
Got some stronger bolts and everything is back together, motor will be back in today...

Just need to hook back up my oil lines, sync the carbs and put the muffler back on. Calling it a day!
