@TonyM - FWIW, I'm also in Irvine (Turtle Rock) and have been using a VW shop in Mission Viejo for the past 20 years. It's Unique Imports on Alicia & Jeronimo. The owner (Chip) is a friend a of mine. If you get this car, I would highly recommend Unique Imports for your maintenance. He has quite a few other Speedster owners as clients.

Turtle Rock?!?! I'm in West Park (next to West Park Elementary School). I'll send you a PM to connect. Maybe you can swing by the house and help a noob out one day/weekend. I didn't realize you lived so close...

Even smaller world, we used to go to Unique Imports (or was it called something else many years ago?). It is in the same shopping complex as Jack In The Box and the Arco Station, right?

Kevin,

Don't know the dealer, but there is likely no illegal conduct going on.  Rather, the dealer probably has the car on spec, and they are concerned you would find the owner with the info provided, and buy direct, saving a few dollars and relieving them of their commission.  If you want to know more about the car, forward a photo to SE, and they can likely provide manufacturer's specs.

Jim, that shot of your car is so sexy!

Yeah, Jim's car is pretty nice.

Oh come on, Jim's car is like all the other black cars. What I think is happening to you guys is that your love for El Guapo and your fantasies about his sexiness is manifesting itself within you and you're projecting that love of El Guapo onto his car.

Yeah, that's it! But his car is pretty sexy.

There are a plethora of reasons to admire the car and El Guapo, the most guapo hombre in all of SoCal!

@TonyM Im assuming you purchased the 2005 Beck from the beginning of this post. Was it already titled in California?

I checked out a 2005 Beck this afternoon with 4,320 miles. From my knowledge, it is a two-owner car.  The current owner lives in NJ.  The consignment shop in the Bay Area that has the car has all the paperwork the owner needed to title the car in NJ

The weather did not cooperate this afternoon, not allowing for a test drive. Which is OK, as I really need to research SB100, to see if it's worth going through the motions on his car.

chassis Number: 356 000 018

final assembly date: 02/20/05

(I did PM Carey with the above info)

Here is the link (hope this isn't considered "hijacking the thread"):

Thank You in advance
