Accelerator Pedal

Good question I often wondered about it myself.  I wonder if the Samba group have used it for vw beetles?

I like my drive by wire throttle pedal via a Subaru Impreza.

I've got one, and haven't put it on yet.

The stock VW accelerator pedal is pathetic.

My first car was a '57 oval window VW bug - instead of a gas pedal, it had a roller pedal.  Of course, with 36 hp, mashing on it didn't do much.  It actually was quite efficient.  EMPI makes one now for $11 (#3160 black plastic) and a more costly $28 billet aluminum one (#8511) that can be fitted to newer VW pedal assemblies.

@Former Member,  I have it as part of a whole pedal cluster from them that includes the improved clutch cable attachment.

How do you like it Mike?  I know the clutch cable attachment looks really much more substantial.

I like it but I don't notice any significant difference while driving.  I think the gas pedal is mostly less subject to future degradation.

How about the gas pedal ? Right now I have a stock one and it sucks seems really cheaply made.

As I said in my previous post,  the gas pedal doesn't seem to feel much different but it looks like it would hold up better.

We did just spend a long weekend in Ohio.

I installed the Classic accelerator kit.  It doesn't feel too different, more solid.  Michael's right.  The Classic set up should survive a small thermal nuclear incident.  I also installed the clutch and big foot extension.  Arden, if in your budget, go for it, I think it's a good value.

Big Foot now that would be a nice size for a EEE shoe

I have a roller pedal and had never seen one before. I was going to replace it without even giving it a try. I may now. 

Thanks for all the feed back I’m going to order one today along with new clutch pedal shaft upgrade.
