I'm looking to strip a few layers of wax off the VS to clay it super clean. There are a few layers of wax build up to get through...Brazilian Carnauba, a couple of Speed Demon Wax Detailer applications, and IIRC NuFinish paste.  Will Acetone cut through all this without damaging the paint?

Suggestions?

(If it winds up getting towed into the Marriott parking lot again... I at least want it looking good!)

Acetone is much too harsh for a decent paint job, as you risk damaging the paint.  There are a number of wax removal products on the market from the major manufacturers: Griots, Maguire's, Mothers, etc.  They are much easier on the paint, and do just as well in old wax removal.  Some detailers swear by a thorough wash, clay, then wax with your favorite product about twice/year, depending on car use, weather, storage area, etc.
