Picked up Max Zimmer's book (Actual Mileage) a while back and have to say how much I've enjoyed it. I don't get a lot of down time to relax and read but when I do I really like picking this up. I highly recommend it.
Tonight he reminded me of my 65 Covair. My dad was Air Force and loved the air cooled stuff so he had Corvairs. When I was a kid he put together an old '65 with a rat 140 for me -that thing would go. Anyway, it had a rotted out floor on the passenger side that would let torrents of water through on the right puddle.
On a few occasions, on night my date, I said "Keep your feet on the steel plate (of course they forgot) and a waterfall of water would come through the floor and cover them. Then, without fail, they would turn to me (water dripping off their nose and chin) asking "WTF!" Needless to say, keeping and straight face was damn near impossible. I think the night my date was dressed really well only to feel the tsunami was the end of that relationship -oh well collateral damage.
Anyway, thanks Max! Fun read! Recommend it to all...
