Wish I had a way back machine! I bought a new 914 in '72 with the chrome dog dish hub caps. Didn't have $ for alloy wheels so bought these thin stamped aluminum hub caps from JC Whitney for $19.95.

I had those fake Fuch hubcaps too, but I’d say early 80s, paired with my fake cell phone antenna. I even took pin striping tape and made EKG life support squiggle designs on my Vw Pep Boy tint film VW bug windows. My pants were too tight, and I wore pastel colored shirts, and white high top shoes. Looking back, I was a mess. But at the time, when I looked in my multi-paned “Wink” rear view mirror, I was cool. And the girls knew it.
