Good Morning, I am... still with you guys!
First, Thank You for many well wishes conveyed it is much appreciated.
Thought I was dealing with 9 days of the flu. However, I was doing light wrenching in the shop, I started to violently shake, instant high fever. Connie and I headed to the ER, of course by the time we got there, the symptoms somewhat subsided, unable to find the cause and I was admitted. Two days later it reappeared in front of two Doctors in my room then I went unresponsive. I woke two hours later to bright overhead lights. lucky for me they were hallway fluorescent ceiling lights. CAT scan confirmed a liver abscess/ sepsis. A week later, I am home and feeling a bit better each day..... Again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. ~Alan
Alan, We are all so glad to hear you are still with us! You certainly threw a scare into us.
Are you on meds for a while?
Already off most meds
Welcome back Doc...... You scared a few folks you know....
Whew! I imagine that you'll be avoiding the beer for a bit. We'll have to take up the slack.
Great to hear you're recovering, Alan!
Alan
I don't know much about cars but I do know quite a lot about liver abscesses. I know you are Drclock. If you are not a medical doctor and have any questions feel free to PM me. Glad you are well.
Phil
Alan,
Good to know you are on the road to recovery! Follow the Dr.'s orders.

Alan-glad you are on the mend.It sounds familiar-Last year my wife and I had taken our granddaughters to the Zoo in Jerusalem and I started shaking for the first time ever. I hadn't felt well for a few days.My son took me to an emergency clinic and my white count was through the roof. I received immediate IV antibiotics and fluids-excellent care by both an Arab and a Jewish doctor-was a urinary infection. I was supposed to fly back to the states the next day but that was out of the question.
We had taken trip insurance for the first time and it covered all medical and travel expenses for us.
See you at Carlisle,
Joel
Great news, Alan! God bless.
Alan, be well my friend. So glad to hear that you are on the fast track to recovery! See you in May
Good to hear they found the cause and that you are getting better. Could it had been snorting all that fiberglass dust and paint fumes? Better get a better respirator, I hear that stuff can be pretty bad on the old liver. Be well and be careful, looking forward to see you in May...
At our age this kind of thing is a little scary. So glad you know what is wrong and are working toward fixing it brother.
Two days later it reappeared in front of two Doctors in my room then I went unresponsive.
This is exactly the kind of thing that only happened on "House". In a way you were very lucky!
Great news about your improved health condition, my brutha! You had us all worried there for a while!
Good news, Alan, glad to hear you're on the mend. Get some deserved rest and come back stronger than ever. "He takes a licking but keeps on ticking!"
Some people will do anything to get out of shoveling snow.
Seriously, though, I'm so very glad that they witnessed an event and that they seem to have a handle on it. Do what they tell ya and get well real soon!!
Glad to hear you are on the upswing and getting better.
Sorry you had to go through a second episode but fortunately it was right in front of the doctors. Better that they saw it than to have them rely on a description of your symptoms.
Glad to hear you are recovering quickly!
Great news, Doc! See ya at Carlisle.
Alan---damned scarey---not a small matter at all. Glad you got expert diagnosis and quick treatment. We were pretty upset with the news and it's great to hear you are coming along well. We'll hoist a congratulatory something or other with you at Carlisle!
Wonderful news Al.
Praying for your continuing recovery!
Excellent news, Alan. Take it easy for a bit and we'll see you soon.
Nice to hear you are feeling better Alan!!
Actually Alan, now that I've thought about it, either you or Connie should have posted your original symptoms on the forum and everyone here could have given you their opinion as to a diagnosis. Much like a carb issues, transmission issues, exhaust questions, wheel choices, etc. etc.
I kid, I kid. LOL
...........conclusion would be a faulty Nardi horn button ~
Nah. My money's on a missing part to his carb.
...and Lane is the expert on carbs!
I'm glad both Alan and Lane's carbs are well these days.
Hokie smokes! Exhibiting symptoms while doctors were actually in the room?
You're going to get written up in the New England Journal of Medicine for that. And how did you manage to get two doctors in one room at the same time, anyway?
I thought you had mythical powers when you installed a windshield without cracking it, but now I'm convinced.
That would be three doctors in the same room....
