I have the roll bar pieces removed from the CMC speedster parts ( body) that I bought last week.  The roll bar looks like something that would be legal to use in SCCA and I think someone was planning this when the started on this speedster project.  Parts were only tacked together and I was able to grind off the spot welds, all but one piece, which they welded rather good to the top of the rear seat frames, those square tubes, going UPward inside the body in the rear.  I am using that welded tube to hold up the body while doing the complete assembly of this speedster.  Want only $100 for parts.  Hope to include pictures, if I figure out how to. I am showing the roll bar pieces removed and how the body was cut with holes in the fiberglass where the parts were tack welded.  I don't think you can reproduce these mild steel parts with correct bends and tapered ends, for this price.  Freight might be somewhat high and figure to most place in USA, the 48 States, between $100 and $150, making the total sales price between $200 and $250, still a good deal if you want a serious roll bar.

I broke my bank getting this parts car, from Connecticut to Texas. But, you guys in Hawaii are all rich ---- say what bro ? Despite the missing parts, which are many and I don't want to think of how much money I have to spend for things like door panels, gauges and seat covers and side windows and new complete top and let's not forget the windshield, I priced a completed floor pan with new speedster body on it, from other sources ( not mentioning names as the people were nice to me). Price wise, not counting what it would cost me to pick up the "roller" it was the same price, but as I work cheap for myself, I can afford this project. I am blessed with the ability and skills and $15,000 in tools/ equipment to be able to put together a replica. Have you ever asked your mechanic the question --" Do you think I can do that, myself ?" My answer always is - " Yes, if you have 30 years auto repair knowledge, $15,000 in tools and a well equipped garage and your wife and/or girlfriend will leave you alone for months". That is as nice an answer as possible and the truth. Or, work and make a lot of money and let someone else put the replica together. Either way, you get a fun car to drive. Having worked on a Speedster, worth $50,000 , I know what good looks like. I cannot afford the details that one had, but nice to have seen what quality work and parts looked like. I cannot imagine what the custom crankcase aluminum vent box cost, on the $50,000 speedster, to build. Very nice car , well engineered and fast ! Can you say ---Power glass windows ? Yep, it had all the nice stuff.
