My new IM is almost done. Just made a quick visit to Vancouver and took a test drive.

2110cc engine, 5 speed (901 transmission), Porsche slate grey, dark red leather, black top, charcoal square weave carpet, low over rider tubes, wide fives with 10 slot chrome wheels, rack and pinion steering and a endless list of options that I will put on the registry later.

I sold my 2003 Black IM Speedster at the end of the summer (too soon), but was thrilled to see my new Roadster this last week.

I hope for it to arrive in Atlanta in about 3 to 4 weeks.

I only attached one picture since the car was not 100% complete, but more to come.

Thanks Mike. Last years Speedster pictures were great.

Henry said it would probably done about the end of next week, then the long wait for the truck to arrive. It doesn't have the distinctive rollbar the Speedster had, but the low over rider tubes and dark red leather interior ended up looking great.

Sorry about the leg. No more skiing this year?
Cool Robert, when you get some cool pics I'll draw you a new one. :) I just had more leg surgery this week and am stuck off my feet for a bit like last year. So plenty of time.

Edited: No skiing since the accident. The broken leg was pinned and plated together last year and 3 months of no weight and followed by physio but the knee started to fall into a space created by removal of shattered bone fragment on the inside that made my leg progressively crooked. So it was necessary to reset the leg with a piece of bone from the hip, he used a chisel and hammer to straighten, some new fangled epoxy and new screws and plate. So I will miss 2 seasons. Next winter, I will start slowly to ski again. My doctor told me my knee is in bad shape and eventually will need to be replaced but I am too young to do it now.

Wow. Ouch....Mike. I will consider myself lucky and hope that I never have to go through what you have on the leg.

As Dale mentioned the Burger King, how many photos does that Burger King show up in? About a zillion!

Thanks for the comments. I really had a tough time on the colors until I saw an article in Excellence, I think on a 356 coupe that was slate grey with red interior, then I looked up John Leaders car, same color, and voila', I thought it was something that looked sort of original in color, but still has a few individual touches (I did not see the charcoal grey square weave carpet too often). I think the paint is still dark enough to show off the great body curves, reflects well, but maybe, or maybe not shows dust as bad as my black Speedster. Black is beautiful, but every bit of dirt and imperfection shows up. I wonder if this color will help, not sure yet.

I will post more information when Henry gets the last finishing touches completed. He really goes the extra mile to get it right and to make sure I'm happy with it. You can't ask for more than that!
I am planning on going to Carlisle again, but really considering trailering this time. If I can find a trailer at a reasonable price. The Roadster would be a little more comfortable to drive than the Speedster, if it rains again, but I do have a nice big truck and could pull it very easily.

Gordon mentioned that you all were thinking about a caravan and you can count me in, trailered or not. I may try the Tennessee route this time, rather than Charlotte.

Thanks for the invite.
Robert,

You'll love the slate gray- I saw JL's car in person at Knotts, and the color could be the coolest I've ever seen. John says it's an easy color to care for, but ALL his other cars are black, so I guess you'd have to consider the source...

I very nearly went with your (his) color combo when having my car built last year- but in the end stole Brooks' MB Iridium Silver color selection with black leather instead of wine. There is nothing to compare with the ease of caring for silver.... as long as it doesn't require a repair. I love my paint- I'm sure you will too.
I think the slate grey will work out pretty well. I have had mostly black cars for years with the occasional silver. I love silver, it always looks good for a while versus black, which is good for about a hour. I think the slate grey may last at least a day or two. Time will tell.

Will you be attending Carlisle? I always like seeing the new additions, IM or otherwise.
Yeah like how's it going, eh? I went to the store to get a 24, but it was snowing so much I had to take the ski-doo. Take off eh? Strange Brew the movie, all about trying to get FREE beer from the brewery after putting a mouse in a beer bottle. Take off you knob, eh?

A stereotypical look at Canada eh, indeed!

Hey Ron. LOL
