My alternator red light won't go on with the first turn of the key (just started happening) all other systems working so I don't think it's the key switch. I checked the bulb, it's good. I have a less than one year old Compu-Fire 90 amp alternator with an internal voltage regulator. The system is not charging.

Not sure how to test the regulator, it's held in place on the alternator with 3 screws.  Any ideas?

What's the best source to get a real Bosh 55 amp alternator?

Thanks guys,

Pete

Yeah Art with this one being rated to 90 amps, I have to get to 2000 rpms to kick in and turn off the red charging light to let me know it's charging. Problem now is the light does not go on and it's not charging . Bulb and all fuses ok. So it's either the internal voltage regulator or the alternator. I'll check as Al suggested.

Thanks,

Pete
