Aluminum drums

I ran across something years ago in reference to an aftermarket cylinder head manufacturer. The heads were cast aluminum and were referred to (by a noted machinist) as:

"A thin veneer of oxidation filled with porosity."

That's engineer-eese for POS.

OK i read the article . Now I have a question.

If you had the type 3 rear hubs of the 2 peace varioty. would a aluminum slip over drum be a good fix for this? Or do you get new problems .

I know GM offered them like that for years I've never seam recall on that type.

Know? If someone, Would Just produce them for a T-1 applicaion . We would have a alternative to rear Disc.
