Well here's the Photos of the foot peg i made. If I do another one, i recommend making it about an inch shorter. I'm going to remove mine and do that as well. There is a 3/6" ball bearing detent with a pretty stiff spring under it located in the bottom of it to hole the peg in the up position. Right now the peg is a little long and slightly interferes with clutch operation in the down position..........Bruce

Well done, Bruce. Looks great!
Bruce,
Should you decide on a limited production run please pencil me in on the waiting list.
I'd buy one.
Very cool & clever, Bruce!
What do those screws go into? It must be more than fiberglass? Is it sturdy enough to take the pressure?
I'd buy one too.
Cole....The 1/4" cap screws (stainless steel) go straight thru the fender well wall which is about 1/4" thick. The stainless nylock nuts are backed up by two stainless steel fender washers. It's very sturdy ! So far that's 4 of you wanting them.....Bruce
Brilliant!! I'm in if you produce them.
Why can't I think this stuff up?
Bruce,
Please count me in also. Good job!
Very nicely done!
I would be up for one of those gadgets, Bruce! Thanks for considering these requests!
+1!!! Very nice work!
If mass-producing them, I might try and incorporate a hook (or something) so that folding and unfolding it can be accomplished with the clutch-foot (without having to reach down with hands), but as it stands it's still a great idea!!!
(Oh and stamp a Porsche badge somewhere on there....LOL)
VERY COOL, COUNT ME IN FOR ANOTHER ORDER! THANKS!

When I put my hood struts in the front of my car I sandwiched the fiberglass between two large plates of stainless steel to spread the stress out over a larger area. The plates for my struts were probably 3 inches by 5 inches and were bolted together through the fiberglass on all four corners and the hood strut ball was bolted through the center.
I'm interested, Bruce; even without the P insignia...
Interesting! Would not a more traditional "dead pedal" be more befitting? Not to mention more ergonomically friendly and comfortable for long highway travels? To each his own!

So far it looks like 12 of you want this foot peg. Anyone else?.....Anyone want two? For right and left? Or the next car in the future?.......Bruce

Jack up the foot pegs and put a Harley,BSA,Honda,etc.,etc., between them!
I love the idea but us guys that drive on the left side of the road can't really have them. The clutch pedal is right up against the tunnel...nowhere for a rest of any kind. I hook my foot under the clutch if on any longer journey....probably not the best place to trap your foot.
Hi srblower......If you send me a photo of what your clutch pedal position and arrangement looks like, I may be able to come up with something for you left-lane guys.....Bruce
Great workmanship for sure but I have never tried a dead pedal much because I sit further back most times, if your short on pedal choices you could do this dead pedal, might be confusing for some, you know too many choices! Ray
Hi Bruce. I'm attaching a pic but now embarrassed of the crap in the foot well. The other pics here are all pristine.

Noting to be embarrassed about! Its obviously a driver.

srblower....No apology necessary. Could you send another pic taken from the passenger side. I'd like to see how much space your talking about between the clutch pedal and the tunnel hump......Bruce
I am going to see a guy today who does CNC stuff out of his garage. Hopefully we can make a deal on producing these foot pegs.......Bruce
Hi Bruce. Here's a pic from the passenger side, not great but the clutch arm is about 1" away from the tunnel and the pedal rubber itself is about 2" higher than the top of the tunnel.

By the way guys, my names Steve (SRBlower) is just my 2 initials and Blower, family name.
Steve B.....Thanks for the pic. Wow....I didn't realize that the pedal was so close to the "Hump" Consider this ? What about mounting one of my pegs on top of the hump and slightly rearward of the clutch pedal. It would have to be shorter than standard length. Using your foot or hand, you would be able to flip it up to vertical when not needed. I could probably mill out a radius to match that of the "Hump" so it mounts nicer............If I ever get these thing off the ground to a CNC shop? I'm going over to see a guy today........Bruce
Hi Bruce, thanks for the thought but I have a storage basket and a digital aerial for TV and radio located there. I can see what you're getting at though. I'll see what can be done to re-arrange things but I'm stuck with them now....by the way, you say the pedal is so close. You should see how they had to construct the right hand drive pedals themselves, leaving the clutch cable and throttle cable as on left hand drive cars. When you have to change a cable, the whole pedal assembly falls to the floor....it's a real pain.
Steve B....It looks like you have a couple of fans down there as well. Also, by your description, it seems as though it's a real headache for any maintenance down there.
Hopefully it doesn't require a lot. Let me know how everything works out or if I may help......Cheers....Bruce
Thanks Bruce So far no clutch or throttle cable repairs, just my previous beetles. My regular maintenance is the idle jets of my twin carbs (Chinese copies of webers) I found the reason for my problems on this site. I could never get it to run right. Then the enlightenment from this site.
Yes, I have two fans. The "old style" is new and I'm seeing if it can provide whats req'd. The bigger one is really for a lorry (truck) It's good but noisy. I need a little air movement especially when the tops up.
