Are we looking at the same car, Bill? It doesn't look like a complete disaster, and besides -- I'd probably take it off your hands for a couple bucks in a year or so. Maybe less than a year, the way the Sloppy Jalopy's behaving this week.
'Course, you'd have to do a little of the finish work, first ... Or just haul it to Alan's place for a little rehab. I'm going to have my hands full for a week or so, so I just won't have that kind of availability ... :

He makes sure to state that the car is all metal, and not a fiberglass replica. Is there such a thing as a mercy killing in the 356 world? That poor car is being humiliated.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-356-Convertible-project-car-clean-title-/290475801125?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item43a1b4fa25 here is the west coast counterpart. I'd dip into either of those for two or three grand if they were local, wouldn't think twice. Come out of it with a pretty nice coupe using an Beetle oval roof clip,'66 VW Bus upper window frames and sliding plexi side windows, rivet-in rear quarter windows, glass rear window and split stock Beetle windshield with early Ford center trim. Do the interior up like a WWII Lancaster light bomber, add some some wide body fiberglass fenders and five lug widened VW wheels with drum skinz.
Too bad that the asking price and shipping costs on the West Coast offering cuts away any profit margin. The owner of the East Coast version has rocks in his head, plain and simple.

After seeing these two P.O.S . I feel really lucky to have found my old coupe only like 6K
This shows you how stupid some people are in the good old USA!

I'd spend a couple of thou on the coupe-2-speedster. I can get a whole roof section very easily. Not saying it would be easy, but it might be worth it. Build a real outlaw out of it.
For a couple thou, I can part it out pretty easily. It does run and drive.
