Interesting to see how opinions vary Wolfgang. I've had a couple people IM me and tell me that Beck's have the least floor space and are not made for tall people.
Beck and IM both do, have add'l foot box room over VS, FF/CMC, JPS.
Even the pan based IM?
Pan based IM will have the same foot well area as all other pan based / CMC FF VS JPS.
Our standard floor is just slightly higher than a pan, however we have plenty of room to drop that and have built custom chassis/floor to accommodate drivers as tall as 6'6" (custom pedals, custom hub adapter, moved shifter location, moved e-brake location)
As far as leg room, we opened up our floor and are able provide the most leg room of any Speedster replica. In fact when Henry rode in one of my cars at Carlisle, his exact words were "damn, it's like an amphitheater in here".
One thing I noticed was that Becks are more spacious (wider and foot room), but one sits lower in an IM.
I'm 5'10" so I don't have any fit issues....

Early IM interior ('77 R&T article)-
Interesting. In this 1977 article they say that a new frame is in the works that will eliminate the need for the VW floor pan. That didn't really happen for another 10 years.
Here's Kit Car Magizine article from 10+ years later (1989) that talks about the convertible D and the custom frame:
