Paul, Sounds like you had a great time. Are you going this year?
Dang Paul, in a tux you look like a politician.
Hope to see you at Amelia Island in the spring. Let's make sure we at least sync up for lunch or something.

I want to go back. But lots of my vacation time over the next six months or so will be spent on college visits with Lauren. So I'm not sure yet.
I'll be staying at the Hampton Inn, made my reservations last year, I've been going for years. A few years back, when Sterling Moss was there, I took a book about him that I received when I was twelve and had him sign it. Sir, John Surtees was there as well really a nice guy.Look forward to meeting up with anyone else who is going.
For you VETS, if you can't find a place to stay, Kings Island Sub Base right up the road in Georgia has some nice BOQ's available. Stayed there once when I couldn't find a room.

A week from this Saturday, folks, I will be back at Amelia Island. Bruce (Stump), please email me your cell phone number so we can get together down there.
Paul, you and Richard made my wall, the wall in my shop :~)
Not sure if I should be honored or disturbed by that Al! LOL!
Did you ever figure out if you are coming this year, Paul?
Maggie and I will be at Ameila Island also. Leaving tomorrow, first going to the Helicopter Association International Convention in Orlando, then Jack Brows' Sea Plane Base in Winter Haven for some seaplane flying, and Palm Coast. Then on to Ameila. Hope to see you there.
Hi Lane...not in the cards this year.
Starting about three weeks ago...I'm incurring a lot of additional living expenses...seeing as I'm no longer living in my own house!

I'm sure there's a story in that, but one you needn't share.
We can talk in Carlisle, Lane. ;)
Paul - sorry to hear that my brutha! I hope it all works out.
Ill be there all weekend see ya
We'll be there Friday afternoon until sometime Sunday but not in the Creme Brule Coupe.
OK...where are all the "Live from Amelia Island" posts and pictures?
Not from me.
I was still working diligently on my bathroom renovations and didn't make it.....
It was absolutely Summer-perfect weather, though.

I told myself that I wouldn't take as many pictures as last year and i didn't. Instead of just shy of 500, I only took 425. It's gonna take a couple of days to sort and post to PhotoBucket. Meanwhile, I'm beat. G'night y'all.
Oh yeah - Ran into Bruce and Norma Stump yesterday in the RM Auction staging area. They were there with their friends Chuck and Maggie who attended Carlisle last year, and whose last names I have shamefully forgotten again. Bruce had some drool stains on his shirt.

It was a VERY nice weekend.

That is one of the best pics ever posted on SOC! Way to represent Lane!
Lead foot no more, he shall be named "Double Finger" or "Two Finger Lane":)
Well done Lane...aplausos ~ aplausos ~ aplausos ~ aplausos........
It was a super weekend. We checked out the RM auction on Saturday and saw the top seller - a 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Vignale Coup
Got my pics posted last night, but need to rearrange a bit for the slide show. Will be ready no later than this evening.
I SWEAR I had no idea my hand was that high up.

BTW, Lane, sometimes you might think about cutting your old dad in on some of the action!
'Two-fingers' - yeah, I like that .........

I'll trade you that for some stick time in the 904, Dad. ;-)
Ok, here's the link to the slide show. Remember, this is just a fraction of what was there. Enjoy!

Dear Lane,
Please quit tying up Mr. Lempert on the weekends so that he can get started on my steering wheel.
Kindest regards,
Paul

Lane,
Great pictures, one question though, picture #9 Red Lambo is that Sir Stirling Moss standing to the left of it? Sure looks like him, however don't know if he was there this year, saw no mention of him being in attendance.

If you mean this one, it's actually a Ferrari. That certainly does look like him, but I'm not sure.
I believe it is indeed Sir Stirling! See the quote below:
"We are very excited to announce that racer/photographer/author/historian Joel E. Finn
