Jim speak with forked tongue
And, Mike...Don't get any funny Ideas of taking this pic and putting my head on it...
I guess I'm going to have to agree to disagree with Tom. I'll go along with the assumption that there are apparently some potential buyers somewhere for a replica coupe that isn't weather tight, but I'm standing fast on the opinion that the vast majority of potential buyers would (rightly) assume a degree of weather protection that is unavailable with any open car. It would be counterintuitive to think otherwise.
As far as disappointed buyers not doing their homework- it would have been pretty close to impossible to pinpoint the potential problems with the coupes, given the newness of the concept. New molds were made specifically for the project. As for accepting leaks from door seals, wheel-wells, or any other area, I'm at a loss as to how to answer that- it's not that hard to seal up a pan and body from below if it's done before the running gear and carpet are in the car, and pretty close to impossible without going to a freakish amount of work afterward. I'm not sure why this falls under the heading of "unreasonable".
I'm glad you're happy with your coupe, Tom. The consensus seems to be running about 50%-75% the other way. There must be some reason why that is.
