Good news Cory, your care is running..... sort of. I have a short video but can't seem to upload it. Put a stock duel port 1600 in it, pretty much fired right up. Set the timing, adjusted the carbs, everything good. Unfortunately, as soon as I hooked up the battery, the tail lights came on and stayed on. That's funny because I can't get the tail lights on my car to work, now I can't get Cory's to stop working. Think that over guys while I get a couple of bugs sorted. For example, there is a squeak while the engine is running, an annoying little squeak. We took the belt off thinking it was fan relate.  Then my son asks if I removed the collar from the pressure plate...... crap, I didn't check that. So the engine has to come back out.

We're letting it cool down, and then back at it. It should be good to go in a couple of hours.

So Cory, please come and get your car out of my garage. There is a "Cruise on Central" tonight and one son is taking my yellow car. There just happens to be a silver car sitting here......

Yeah, my oldest, Adam and I have not always seen eye to eye. My youngest Aaron and I were born on the same day and we get along great. Adam has fallen in love with my new Speedster and asks to borrow it some evenings. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to share the car with him. It was really cool having two Speedsters (thanks to Cory) and go to the car show together.

Oddly enough, Aaron hasn't shown much interest in the new car. I went from wanting a Speedster, to having two in the garage.

WELL!

I arrived back in AZ from NY this morning, and who picked me up at the airport IN MY OWN SPEEDSTER, with a tidy, tight, 1600cc loaner motor installed in it, but my hero and yours, @PaulEllis!

It's beautiful! Just hums along gorgeously!

So grateful for Paul's generosity -- I was profusely thanking him after I dropped him off at his place, and he said he wagered there were a dozen guys in the SOC who would've done the same, in his circumstances,

i think he's right.

Oh, by the way -- you all missed the Testicle Festival. I know it's not Carlisle, but still, think about it for next October.

The latest on Cory's car is that he is driving it. My son and I installed a stock engine we had sitting around. It gave me a great deal of pleasure to pick Cory up from the airport in his car. He dropped me off at my place and later sent me a pic indicating he was in cooler climates, about 100 miles outside of town.

The parts may be ready to pick up Friday. I know the cylinders are honed and the case is cleaned up. We may be able to start assembly this week end. The shop is measuring chamber volume so we can get the compression where it needs to be. We'll be assembling parts that are clean as a whistle so it should go smoothly. Pretty exciting stuff and for change, I'm not the one paying for parts and machine work.

Yes, I would imagine that a "Testicle Festival" would do just that....

Aren't those things called "Rocky Mountain Oysters"?  Must be tougher than the Oysters down Lane's way.

And, at least to me, a whole lot less appetizing.

Paul, I'll second BobG's comment.  The best thing about having my Speedster is that I learned that there are a lot of folks out there like you.  A goodly number of them helped build my car.  It helps me keep some faith in humanity.
