Carlisle Registration is now open for the May, 2006, Kit Car extravaganza!!

Registration is $15 for the show field, and you can register on-line here:
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CE&Product_Code=2402

Remember to register under "club" as part of the "Speedster/Spyder group" so we'll have enough people to qualiy for the group Tent. We're also working on getting a more central placement for the group this year, based on the number of people/cars that showed up in 2005, AND the number we expect in 2006.

Please email me at gnichols16 AT cox.net with your registration info as follows:
Your name
Your town, state and zip/postal code
Email Address?
What car(s) will you be bringing? (Driving or trailering?)
How many people will be attending?
Date you will be arriving?
Number of people for Friday Evening Dinner?
Number of people for Saturday Evening Dinner?

Thanks, and hoping we'll see everyone at Carlisle, 2006!!
Here's another excuse to come early to Carlisle!

Planning is underway for an Earlybirds Dinner on Thursday, May 18, 2006.
We will take a cruise to the Armitage Golf Club in nearby Camp Hill, Pa.
and will have cheers and dine at The Caddy Shack at the course.

Tentatively, we will meet in the circular driveway in front of the Hotel at 5:30, cruise to the "Shack" and eat at 6:30.
Depending on arrival times to the hotel we can adjust the schedule.

If you plan to come, please post the number in your party in the thread under the Anything Goes Section.

Thanx,

Bill D.
Just announced: The Carlisle Sunday giveaway car is a 1979 MG Midget. If you don't want a vintage MG you can always take the optional $5,000! No purchase necessary, all participants and spectators get a free ticket for the drawing.

I've been too busy house swapping this Spring to get anything done on Pearl, other than finally getting her to run right (turned out it was some bad plug wires) and a few small jobs that couldn't be put off.

Installed a new Master Cylinder, changed the oil and filter and installed a dead pedal. That's going to be about it - don't even plan on washing her until we get there.

I'm a BIG fan of not doing major things at the last minute - they always seem to bite you once you get on the road and don't want to (or can't) turn back.

Heck, with only 9 days left, I just want to get stuff packed for the event and for the Speedster build. THAT should keep me plenty busy!!

We're also planning on having some early Web pictures posted somewhere, so stay tuned, once the event starts, to see what we see!
Guys,

On a whim, the old lady and myself are flying in to take a peeksie at the speedster boys and their toys. I have been swooning for the past year and think I have finally worn her down with my incessant chirping of how cool these cars actually are. We will try to come and spend some time with all the different builders, and have great interest in seeing some of the SAWs and IMs, not to mention the Becks, CMCs, JPS', TRanchs, (hope I am not leaving anyone out....)

If I get too close just swat me away. If I drool on your car, I will appologize now, but I would really like to pick the brains of some of you guys on the highs and lows of ownership....so with that in mind- drive safe, and we will see you there.

Hey Dusty!

I'm guessing you may have already left Colorado for the Carlisle event. Anyway, I'm sure you and your beautiful wife, Sharon, will have an equally fun time with the SOC group in attendance at Carlisle as at the Paso Robles shindig! Say hi to all and especially to Hoss (Johnny2Bolts wearing the 10 gallon hat!).

I would imagine the dynamic energy of that event will only fuel the fun you'll have with your Speedster/Spyder stable when you return to your stompin' grounds!

Hope you all have a safe trip!
Hey Bill & Hoss!

Don't think I haven't been trying to come up with a scheme to make it to Carlisle. My wife grew up in a small town above Allentown/Bethlehem PA (Langsford, I think?) so it wouldn't be a stretch to come up with a reason to come to PA. Last time I was in PA for her family re-union, I made a specific trip to the Martin Guitar factory - very cool (Hoss, noticed the dulcimer you were holding). Could do the same next year but detour instead to Carlisle (don't be surprised if I roll up in a 'replica' Weinermobile). My wife tells me ANYTHING I drive IS a Weinermobile! Not sure what that means.

I know you all will have fun!
