Another bad creation

That's Daves car I believe. He just went with the DTM middle setup if I am not mistaken. Personaly I like that style of cooling tin provided you are not trying to reach some huge HP number it would work just fine, a 2.1-2.3 mild type 4 say.

I love the look of that horizontal fan. Reminds me of a flat 12 Porsche motor.

Looks like it's in a 550 replica.......be interesting to see how well it works and how much noise it makes. Had an old Corvair (140hp, non-turbo) many years ago with a set-up similar to this which made a lot of noise but cooled like crazy. Now, if they had a single 4-barrel up above the fan opening.....Shades of the Monza Spyder all over again!

You are right he did go with a DTM for more cooling. This set up is not good for the street it is better used on race cars. Ron the flat 12 was a hot looking piece of Porsche power!

It is for sale I think on spyderclub, Dave has some crazy 2.6 liter type 4 in his car I believe and this cooling system just was not cooling to his spec's I think.

I know that a few of the laser 917 guys have done similiar thing's to get the look right on there 917's. I never had the guts to cut up my shell though and never even thought about going that route.

As for the small air cleaners I am sure that they are used A for clearance, and B that they work just fine for that engine he would not run them if they didn't.

It doesn't look like there is much of an escape for air uder the engine. I don't think that this will generate much flow/cooling.

I think that is a racing set up. I saw one for sale on Samba or somewhere not too long ago.

I wonder if it would offer more even cooling for 1,2 and 3,4. It would be nice to get 3-4 cooling as well as 1-2.
